Planning a wedding is a huge task to take on and it can become difficult and stressful at times, but in the end you will have created a one time wedding celebration to be remembered for years to come.  Because there are so many elements of a wedding to plan for, the most difficult part may be deciding where to begin.  A good way to start is to write down a guide for yourself of events, such as bridal or wedding showers and receptions, that you plan on hosting before, during and after the wedding ceremony.  Also look through articles for planning tips in wedding magazines and web sites.

Once you have a general idea of all the tasks at hand, choose a wedding theme or set of colors.  Stick with the theme or colors you choose throughout the wedding showers, ceremony and reception.  Using a theme throughout the wedding will make the planning easier and it can also save money if you are able to use some of the same decorations at different
events.

You will, of course, want your wedding celebration to be unique and set apart from any others, but your budget can sometimes halt you from being able to do all you want.  When you start choosing shower invitations, wedding invitations, reception invitations, decorations, locations, shower favors, wedding favors,  reception food, et cetera, the price of everything begins adding up and you may run into a budgeting problem.  With a little creativity and time, this will be only a minor bump in the road to your wedding planning.

Essential tips to save money on your wedding, without sacrificing the importance of such an eventful day.

Purchasing all the items for your wedding can be expensive but many of the things can easily be made yourself.  There are numerous creative wedding ideas you can craft on your own.  Online and in wedding catalogs you can find instructions on crafting your own invitations, decorations and favors.  Most ideas don’t require you to have any level of craftiness, and if you are determined that you cannot make your own decorations, you probably know someone close to you who is creative and can help.

When decorating for the wedding shower, ceremony or reception remember to utilize the items already there.  You can add something small to enhance what is already there.  Making your own invitations is an easy homemade idea that will save money.  Find stationary or blank cards at a craft store and print the information out on a home computer and add any decorations.  Most guest receiving the invitations will not know, or care, whether or not the invitation was homemade or store bought.

An expensive wedding does not mean it is a better wedding celebration or that it will have anything better included or displayed. Creating your own wedding invitations and decorations will only make your celebration more unique and personalized to your particular style.  Homemade wedding accessories does not mean you are sacrificing the quality of your wedding.  Staying under budget in one area of the wedding can give you a greater budget to spend in another area, such as wedding favors or reception food.
